My name is Lisa Shin, and I am a candidate for the New Mexico House of Representatives: District 43.
New Mexico is my Home, and its People are my Priority. I have improved the lives of thousands of residents in District 43 for the past 20 years.
I am the daughter of Korean immigrants, who came to America over 40 years ago, to pursue the American Dream of opportunity, prosperity, and freedom for their children. They envisioned success through strong families, hard work, self-reliance, and personal responsibility. After completing my degrees at Wellesley College and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, I moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico in 1996.
I was moved by the friendliness and warmth of the people. I was impressed by the spectacular beauty, world class education, and scientific community of Los Alamos. I knew that this would be a great place to build my practice and pursue my dreams. I started with one employee, generating just enough revenue to make rent! Today, my successful practice is a result of the relationships I have built, the trust I have earned, and my business skills acquired over the years. I am ready to bring my experience, skills, and knowledge to our State Legislature!
Surrounding states have thriving economies, lower unemployment, and better outcomes for education and health. Why not New Mexico? It’s time for a new direction!
